If Dao were merely something of which we cannot speak, speech and Dao would be two; Guanyinzi’s formula “不可言即道” proves their non-duality—unspeakability is not a property attached to a mute object but the mode in which Dao is present. The commentary proves that linguistic failure is itself a positive revelation of unity, not a mere limit of humans.
1) In BaZi study, refuse idolatry of labels: 格局 names are tools, not the living chart—practice “unspeakable reading” after formal analysis. 2) When clients cling to fatal sentences (“I am 傷官架殺”), use 文始 logic to reopen non-dual agency. 3) Alternate technical drill with silent observation of timing as lived. 4) Treat 用神 selection as pointing, not capturing—like naming that must cancel itself.
Unlike 靈籤 corpora that multiply words as divine answers, 文始 notes prove the insufficiency and yet non-duality of words. Compared with 《文始真經言外旨》, a straight 注 stays closer to line-by-line ontological clarification. Compared with 通玄 commentaries on Wenzi, Guanyinzi’s line is more radically linguistic-mystical than political-ethical expansion of Laozi.
