Kinh Bắc Đẩu Bản Mệnh là kinh phổ biến nhất trong hệ Bắc Đẩu, dạy cầu sao bản mệnh, sám hối, cầu thọ và giải ách. Bản văn mô tả các tinh quân Bắc Đẩu chủ sinh tử họa phúc, khuyên tụng kinh, lập đàn, cúng tế vào ngày bản mệnh. Trong thực hành dân gian và khoa nghi, đây là kinh lõi cho nghi thức “bái Bắc Đẩu” và cầu an mạng.

简称《北斗经》，宋初蜀中道士所作五斗经之首，玄门日诵「四品经」之一。老君以汉永寿元年正月七日于太清太极宫观众生亿劫漂沉，化身降蜀都玉局座授张天师。核心教义：北辰为造化枢机、人神主宰，宣威三界、统御万灵，有回死注生、消灾度厄之功；凡人性命五体悉属本命星官；身属北斗、命由天府。修持：本命之日及诸斋日修斋设醮、启祝北斗三官五帝九府四司，认本命真君，念大圣北斗七元真君名号；列二十四解厄（三灾、四煞、五行、疾病、刀兵等）。无力者亦可酌水献花、望北极稽首。谓此经乃修真径路，出离生死、保命延年皆因此经。
