Phàm tụng kinh phải trai giới, chỉnh y quan, thành tâm định khí, gõ răng rồi mới đọc to, chớ khinh mạn. Cứu Khổ Đại Tiên thưa Đạo Quân: chúng sinh tạo ác, bất kính thiên địa nhật nguyệt, bất hiếu cha mẹ, gian đạo tà dâm, nên chiêu ôn dịch, kiện tụng, khổ nạn. Nếu thiện nam tín nữ quy y Tam Nguyên, trai giới viên mãn, chuyển tụng kinh này, thì Thiên Quan ban phước, Địa Quan xá tội, Thủy Quan giải ách. Đến ngày Trung Nguyên, Địa Quan xóa sổ tội, diệt gốc ác, gạch tên chết, ghi vào sổ sống. Tụng kinh thì bệnh lành, sao hung lui, vạn họa tan, ngàn lành tụ. Nhà có kinh này thì nhà sáng, đeo kinh thì vạn thần ủng hộ.
