A baojuan (precious scroll) of the Bixia Yuanjun / Taishan Niangniang cult—the ‘efficacious response’ (靈應) of the Lady of Mount Tai. Precious-scroll literature of the Ming–Qing blends storytelling, hymn, and morality teaching performed in temple assemblies. This scroll recounts the goddess’s origin, miracles, protection of women and children, and pilgrimage ethos of Taishan. Catalogued among North China sectarian and popular religious performance texts; it documents how a major Daoist mountain goddess was popularized through vernacular scripture.
